Objectives

The project Navigate Your Future aims to support young people in a critical transition phase of their lives by strengthening their employability, personal autonomy, and capacity to navigate digital transformation, including the use of artificial intelligence. The project brings together 30 young participants and 5 group leaders from five European countries for a youth exchange in Luxembourg, implemented through non-formal and experiential youth work methods. From a youth work perspective, the project addresses identified needs related to lack of career orientation, low self-confidence, limited access to guidance, and insufficient digital and transversal competences, especially among young people with fewer opportunities. The main objectives of the project are: To improve employability and career readiness by developing transversal competences such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and initiative through non-formal learning activities. Participants will work on practical tools such as CVs, personal action plans, and awareness of EU opportunities (e.g. Europass, Youth Guarantee), supporting their transition to education, training, or employment. To foster personal development, self-awareness, and resilience through structured self-reflection, goal-setting exercises, and workshops led by psychologists. These activities support emotional well-being, self-confidence, and the ability to make informed life choices, which are key objectives of quality youth work. To enhance digital and AI literacy responsibly and practically by introducing young people to accessible AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Notion, and Midjourney) and demonstrating how they can be used to support learning, career planning, creativity, and daily organisation. The focus is on critical understanding, practical application, and ethical awareness, rather than technical expertise. In this project, AI is used strictly as a supporting tool to achieve youth work objectives such as self-reflection, employability, participation, and critical thinking, and not as a technical training goal in itself. To develop soft skills and intercultural competencies through group work, role-playing, cooperative tasks, and intercultural activities. By working in multinational teams and participating in cultural exchange evenings, participants strengthen empathy, leadership, communication across cultures, and a sense of European citizenship. To promote peer-to-peer learning and active participation by involving participants as co-creators of activities and project outputs, including the “Life Ring Guide”. Participants are encouraged to share their learning outcomes with peers, local youth groups, and communities after the exchange, multiplying the impact of the project. The project is grounded in core youth work practices, including non-formal education, experiential learning, reflection, and peer mentoring. Learning is participant-centred and based on real-life situations, encouraging active involvement rather than passive participation. By combining workshops, teamwork, guided reflection, and intercultural exchange, Navigate Your Future supports young people in developing confidence, autonomy, and competencies that enable them to actively shape their personal and professional futures and participate more fully in society.
