By implementing the project “Bold Step”, we want to strengthen the ability of young people to act independently and responsibly in everyday and unexpected situations, developing in them essential life skills and self-confidence. The project is based on the real needs of young people, which were identified in cooperation with young people both in Latvia and Spain, using surveys, discussions and a participatory approach. The main goal of the project is to develop young people’s decision-making skills in everyday and crisis situations, using non-formal education methods within the framework of an international youth exchange. This means creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment in which young people learn through experience, mutual cooperation and reflection. The sub-goals of the project are: * to develop the skills necessary for young people’s lives, such as time and financial planning, stress management, critical thinking, action in crisis situations and orientation in the urban environment and the surrounding area; * to promote the active participation and initiative of young people, involving them in all stages of the project – from planning to evaluation; * strengthen young people's social, communication and cooperation skills in an intercultural environment, based on mutual respect, equality and non-discrimination; * support young people with limited opportunities, ensuring equal access to international mobility and non-formal education opportunities. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project promotes the principle of "youth for youth", where young people are not just passive participants, but active co-authors. The project helps young people to identify their strengths, identify skills to be developed and gain practical experience that is directly transferable to their daily life, education, work and participation in society. As a result, young people's personal growth, social responsibility and readiness for active civic participation at both local and European levels are strengthened.
