During the implementation of the project, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where young people, through non-formal education and arts-based methods, develop the ability to recognise, understand, and express their emotions in healthy ways, while simultaneously strengthening their social, emotional, and civic competences. The project does not merely seek to provide an international experience, but rather to systematically enhance young people’s well-being and participation through high-quality youth work approaches. From a youth work practice perspective, the primary objective of the project is to develop young people’s emotional intelligence and self-reflection skills through creative and experiential learning methods. Through practical workshops, participants will learn to explore and communicate their emotions through movement, art, music, photography, and storytelling, thereby acquiring safe and constructive forms of self-expression. These methods will help reduce anxiety, strengthen self-confidence, and foster mutual empathy. The second objective is to promote young people’s social and collaborative skills within an intercultural environment. By working in mixed teams with peers from Latvia, Lithuania, and Italy, participants will develop communication skills in foreign languages, teamwork, conflict resolution abilities, and openness to diversity. This will enhance their intercultural competences and strengthen their sense of belonging to the European community. The third objective is to strengthen active participation and leadership among young people. The project follows a youth-led approach, where young people are not only participants but also co-organisers. They are actively involved in programme planning, preparation of activities, facilitation of discussions, and decision-making processes. Such hands-on involvement fosters initiative, responsibility, and confidence in their ability to influence processes within their communities. Another important objective is to ensure inclusive youth work by deliberately engaging young people with fewer opportunities. The project provides additional support, an individualised approach, and a safe environment in order to reduce barriers to participation and ensure equal opportunities for all participants. In this way, the principles of inclusion and diversity are implemented in practice. From an organisational development perspective, the project will strengthen the professional competences of youth workers. Riktīgi NAISS and MJIC Kvartāls, together with partners in Lithuania and Italy, will integrate the methods tested during the project into their daily practice, including workshops, camps, and local initiatives. As a result, the quality, structure, and capacity of youth work will be improved, particularly in addressing mental health and well-being in a systematic way. Special importance is given to the recognition and validation of learning outcomes. The Youthpass process will be integrated throughout all phases of the project as a learning tool rather than merely a certificate. Young people will define their individual goals, regularly reflect on their progress, and connect their experiences with the European Key Competences. This will help them recognise their skills and apply them in their further education and professional lives. Overall, the project contributes to high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable youth work practice, fully aligned with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges programme, by enhancing young people’s well-being, participation, competences, and active engagement in society.
