Organisations working with young people across Europe are facing growing challenges, including declining mental well-being, social exclusion and low participation. The EU Youth Report (2024) and Eurobarometer data (2023) confirm that mental health is one of the most pressing issues for young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities. This highlights the need for accessible, supportive and non-formal approaches beyond the formal education system. Creative, artistic, nature-based and outdoor methods have proven to be effective tools for fostering emotional resilience, social inclusion and active participation. However, many small and medium-sized organisations lack structured international cooperation opportunities to further develop and expand these approaches. This Partnership Building Activity responds both to the needs of young people and to the need to strengthen organisational capacity at European level. The Partnership Building Activity “Art x Nature x Youth Work” will bring together organisations working with young people that use creative, artistic, nature-based and outdoor methods as tools in non-formal education. By combining artistic expression with outdoor and nature-based learning, the project will create an international space for organisational representatives to exchange experience, reflect on challenges, co-create new ideas and approaches, and develop future Erasmus+ and other international projects. The main aim of the project is to strengthen international cooperation among small and medium-sized organisations working with young people and to enhance their collective capacity to support young people’s mental well-being, social inclusion, active participation and environmental awareness through creative, artistic, outdoor and nature-based non-formal education. The project objectives are to: • promote international exchange of good practices in creative, artistic, outdoor and nature-based youth work; • strengthen the quality and use of creative, artistic, outdoor and nature-based methods in youth work practice; • enhance networking and long-term cooperation among organisations using creative, artistic, nature-based and outdoor non-formal education approaches; • facilitate exchange of experience and mutual learning about Erasmus+ and other international funding opportunities in order to strengthen organisations’ capacity to develop and implement international projects; • support organisations in identifying shared needs, priorities and target groups, including young people with fewer opportunities; • improve participants’ competences in designing experiential learning activities that support young people’s mental well-being, social inclusion, environmental awareness and active participation; • jointly develop concrete ideas for future Erasmus+ and other international projects; • support the development of sustainable cooperation beyond the end of the Partnership Building Activity.
