Project objective is to strengthen Riga school student councils as sustainable youth participation mechanisms and to develop the capacity of the Riga Student Council to represent students’ interests at the city level. The project addresses the insufficient understanding of student councils as tools of democratic participation and the uneven quality of their work across schools. Project objectives: 1. to develop young people’s competences in democratic decision-making, teamwork, communication, media literacy and initiative implementation; 2. to promote active student involvement in school decision-making processes; 3. to strengthen the structure and sustainability of student councils by developing practical action plans; 4. to enhance the role of the Riga Student Council as a coordinating and representative platform in dialogue with the municipality. As a result, young people will become active shapers of participation both in their schools and at the city level.
