Objectives

From a youth work practice perspective, READY4WORK: Skills, Confidence and Digital Tools for the Job Market aims to strengthen the role of non-formal education as a bridge between young people and the labour market. The project seeks to respond to real needs identified by young people who feel unprepared, insecure, or excluded when entering employment despite having formal education. The main objective is to empower young people to recognise their competences, build self-confidence, and actively shape their professional pathways, using participatory, inclusive, and youth-centred methods. In youth work terms, the project focuses on supporting personal development, autonomy, and active participation rather than offering traditional career guidance. Specific objectives from a youth work practice perspective are to: • support young people in identifying and valuing skills gained through non-formal learning, volunteering, and everyday life; • strengthen key life competences such as communication, teamwork, initiative, adaptability, and self-reflection; • provide safe learning spaces where young people can experiment, make mistakes, and learn through experience; • promote inclusion by ensuring equal participation of young people with fewer opportunities; • enhance youth workers’ and organisations’ capacity to deliver employability-focused activities using innovative, digital, and participatory methods; • encourage young people to become multipliers who support peers in their communities. Through these objectives, the project reinforces the educational and social role of youth work in supporting young people’s transition to adulthood and employment.
