Objectives

With Democracy in Practice (DiP), we aim to strengthen young people as active co-creators of democratic culture. In a context where polarization, disinformation and black-and-white thinking are increasing, many young people feel their voices have limited impact. At the same time, democratic space is under pressure in several partner countries. DiP approaches youth work as a safe learning environment where democracy is not only discussed, but actively practiced. The objectives are to: - Bring together young people from EU countries and EU neighbouring countries in an equal exchange focused on democratic participation. - Strengthen democratic competences such as active listening, reflection, dealing with disagreement, critical thinking and recognizing polarization and disinformation. - Reduce black-and-white thinking by facilitating encounters with diverse perspectives in safe dialogue-based settings. - Involve young people from day one in designing, implementing and evaluating the exchange. - Position participants as multipliers who continue promoting democratic values locally. Through non-formal education, peer learning, co-creation and daily reflection, participants will facilitate sessions themselves and co-develop tangible outputs (podcast format, question-based dialogue game, impact video) that remain usable beyond the project.
