Objectives

Within 7 Billion Presidents, we see young people and youth organizations as catalysts for real change. Inspired by how the Fridays for Future movement has influenced decision-making and sparked public debate, we aim to connect diverse youth organizations from different perspectives and communities to spark change. By bringing them together, we create a space where they can learn from each other and collaboratively explore pathways for change. Over seven days, young people will take part in creative sessions, community activities, and collaborative sessions focused on how they experience and respond to major social and environmental challenges such as climate change, social inequality, and democratic challenges in their communities. This program aims to unite young changemakers from diverse backgrounds, creating a space where different struggles intersect, are part of a bigger system and where participants can learn from one another. By sharing their stories, they build a supportive community and empowers- each other to drive positive change locally and beyond. We are targeting youth aged 22 to 29. Each participating organization sends a group of four members connected to their organisation, along with one group leader. One key outcome will be audio-visual output created with all the participants showcasing the diverse experiences of young people , highlighting how they are affected by these challenges and how they envision transforming the world together, starting from their own context. By organizing WAAP, our goal is to create and sustain a network of young people around Europe who want to make a positive impact. Young people around Europe increasingly are affected by different crises like climate change, economic volatility and decreasing trust in politics and democracy. Facing these issues can feel lonely, and during our Monthly Gatherings, We Build The New and Young Presidents Projects, all funded via the Erasmus program, and other events with young people, we received feedback from young people that there is a need for connection and community to feel empowered. Many young people we met during our monthly gatherings express that they feel hopeless about the future due to developments in the economy, climate change getting worse and democracies around the world crumbling. With this project, we address these needs by bringing young people from all around Europe together to learn how young people from different communities are impacted, and how they act. Our goal is that, by learning from one another’s experiences, participants will gain perspective and feel less alone in fighting these battles. Moreover, we want the participants to leave with the confidence needed to organise regenerative, inclusive, and sustainable initiatives and communities in their own neighbourhoods or on their digital platforms. Thus, the primary objective of the project is to create an inclusive, intercultural community where young people feel a sense of belonging and confidence in their ability to participate in society and make their voice heard. The project empowers young people to engage with youth from all over Europe and to co-create with different people tools of social change, enabling them to take control of their own future. As a second objective, with WAAP we want to create a space where different social issues and young people engaged around these issues can come together and connect. At first, different issues like social justice, climate action, and gender equality might seem separate fights, but they’re all connected to each other. WAAP gives young people the chance to see these connections, learn from each other’s experiences, and team up to build a shared vision for the future we want to live in. A central outcome of the week will be a youth-led visual storytelling series that captures the voices, stories, and visions of the participants. This creative output will not only serve as a record of their learning journey but also as a way to spread this feeling of togetherness and connection among European youth. Thus, it will also amplify their ideas beyond the exchange, inspiring other young people and communities across Europe. To support these objectives the "We Are All Presidents" project uses participatory and non-formal learning methods where young people are at the front, center and end of the project. By fostering peer-to-peer exchange, creative expression, and collaborative problem-solving, the program nurtures critical thinking and participatory skills, supporting their empowerment through inclusive, intercultural dialogue.
