Objectives

The main goal of this training course is to empower 30 youth workers from the Netherlands, Portugal, Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria with practical tools and non-formal education methods for the early prevention of bullying, racism, and discrimination. Instead of focusing on reactive conflict management, the project shifts the focus toward proactive strategies that create safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environments. The specific objectives of the project are: 1. To equip 30 youth workers with practical skills to recognise early signals of bullying and discrimination in physical and digital youth spaces. 2. To strengthen participants’ capacity to use innovative non-formal methods and micro-interventions to prevent exclusion, and to facilitate sensitive topics such as racism and stereotypes safely and responsibly. 3. To support youth workers and organisations, including those working in or with communities affected by the war in Ukraine, by strengthening preventive, inclusive and resilience-oriented youth work approaches. 4. To produce an open-access online prevention guide and other project outcomes containing tested tools for the wider European youth work community. 5. To equip participants with effective tools to promote Erasmus+ opportunities within their local communities, particularly among youth with fewer opportunities and limited access to information. 6. To strengthen international networking, project management skills and the overall organisational capacity of participating NGOs. Youth workers will develop concrete action plans to ensure that the methods and strategies learned are transferred back to their daily practice, improving the overall quality of preventive youth work at the local level. By achieving these objectives, the project ensures that youth workers do not just gain theoretical knowledge but leave with tested techniques to design safe youth activities that actively prevent exclusion. This is supported by the creation of an open-access online guide, which will document the collective knowledge and practical tools developed during the mobility.
