Due to our practice and research, we have identify that a trauma-informed methodology is very important, especially when we want to build spaces that are inclusive and encourage the active participation for all. However, is yet not enough mainstreamed in youth work. Therefore, we are offering the possibility to have a training moment, dedicated to youth workers, youth leaders and youth themselves where we would learn about a trauma informed approach, in how to apply it in our everyday practice and reinforce values and ethics that we all believe are essential for a quality youth work. This is in line with a series of other projects/activities that touch upon topics as mental health and well-being. The aim of this specific training course is then to encourage participants to adopt a trauma informed approach in their work, shifting educational spaces from control to connection, helping to generate places where all students—especially those impacted by adversity—can feel safe, supported, and capable of learning and develop further.
