With the project Right to Speak, we aim to structurally and meaningfully involve young people in policy and practice development within the juvenile justice and security domain. The project seeks to strengthen a group of youth ambassadors in their skills, knowledge and self-confidence, enabling them to collect, analyse and translate the perspectives of their peers into a joint Youth Agenda in a representative, inclusive and ethically responsible way. The objectives are: (1) to strengthen young people’s competences in participation, advocacy and public dialogue; (2) to organise regional and target-group-based consultations to gather diverse youth perspectives, including those with relevant experience in the field of justice and security; and (3) to bring these insights to policymakers and decision-makers in the juvenile justice chain in order to sustainably embed youth participation in decision-making processes.
