Objectives

The project aims to strengthen inclusive, innovative, and youth-led youth work practices by using unorganised sport and public or natural spaces as accessible learning environments for young people. From a youth work practice perspective, the project seeks to demonstrate that meaningful inclusion, participation, and learning can be achieved without expensive infrastructure or formal systems, by instead relying on creativity, flexibility, and trust in young people. A central objective of the project is to empower young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, by creating safe, low-threshold spaces where they can participate actively, feel a sense of belonging, and develop confidence. Through non-formal learning methods, unorganised sport, and youth-led activities, participants are supported in developing key competences such as teamwork, communication, leadership, responsibility, and intercultural understanding. The project also supports young people in recognising their own strengths and potential, helping them become more active and engaged in their communities. Another important objective is to improve the quality and innovation of youth work. The project provides youth workers and organisations with practical examples of how sport, nature, and everyday public spaces can be used as effective youth work tools. By combining physical activities with reflection, peer learning, and creative methods, the project strengthens non-formal education practices that are inclusive, adaptable, and sustainable. Innovation is further supported through the use of digital tools and youth-led communication, helping modernise youth work practices in line with the realities of young people’s lives. The project also aims to strengthen youth participation and youth leadership. Young people are not only participants, but active contributors involved in planning, implementation, reflection, and dissemination. This approach supports democratic participation, ownership, and empowerment, and reflects core principles of quality youth work. At organisational level, the project aims to build capacity and confidence to work inclusively and internationally. By cooperating transnationally, organisations exchange good practices, learn from different contexts, and develop stronger, more sustainable youth work approaches. This cooperation also contributes to stronger European awareness, solidarity, and shared values among young people and youth workers. Overall, the project seeks to contribute to a youth work practice that is inclusive, accessible, innovative, and sustainable, while supporting young people in reaching their potential and becoming active, confident, and socially engaged citizens at local and European level.
