The objective of this project is to strengthen young people’s understanding of youth crime as a complex social issue and to explore how prevention, inclusion and system responsibility can contribute to reducing exclusion and marginalisation. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to create safe learning spaces where young people can reflect critically on stereotypes, social structures and societal responses, and where their own experiences and perspectives are recognised as valuable. The project seeks to empower young people to engage in informed dialogue about youth crime and prevention without placing responsibility on individuals. Instead, it focuses on increasing awareness of how families, schools, communities, youth work and public systems influence young people’s opportunities and choices. Through non-formal learning and peer-based approaches, the project aims to build critical thinking, reflection, empathy and civic engagement among participants.
