Objectives

The project “Habitualising Attractive Participatory Processes in Youthwork (HAPPY)” aims to strengthen youth workers’ capacity to turn youth participation from a formal concept into a concrete, attractive and regular part of everyday youth work practice. From a youth work perspective, the main objectives are: *to develop youth workers’ competences in designing and facilitating culturally rooted, community-based and volunteer-driven participatory processes; *to make participation more experiential and “fun”, so that young people connect it with meaningful roles, relationships and local culture rather than with abstract structures or one-off events; *to link to link volunteering and culture (museums, creative spaces, community-based cultural events) with youth work methods in ways that build belonging, leadership and ownership among young people; *to increase the ability of partner organisations to offer inclusive participation opportunities that are accessible to young people with fewer opportunities and that support their wellbeing and social inclusion; *to deepen long-term cooperation between partner organisations so that participation-focused approaches become embedded in organisational strategies, not only in single projects. Overall, the project seeks to equip youth workers with practical tools, reflective habits and international inspiration so they can build attractive, sustainable participation pathways for young people in their daily work.
