Objectives

The project aims to strengthen the quality and impact of Human Rights Education in youth work by connecting Norwegian youth workers and educators to European human rights institutions, tools and networks. The Norwegian Human Rights Education Network consists of 24 organisations working with youth on peace, democracy and human rights. Many of these organisations operate mainly at local and national level and have expressed the need to better understand how European human rights mechanisms and Council of Europe tools can support and legitimise their daily educational work. From a youth work perspective, the project seeks to: - Increase youth workers’ understanding of European human rights frameworks and institutions - Strengthen their ability to translate international human rights mechanisms into accessible learning activities for young people - Introduce new pedagogical methods and tools to counter hate speech - Strengthen cooperation between NGOs and European institutions - Build a stronger professional network among organisations working with Human Rights Education The project contributes to quality development in youth work by bridging the gap between European human rights standards and practical, local youth work realities.
