Objectives

The main aim of YOUTH CODE is to ensure that participants not only gain knowledge about AI, but also develop practical competences, critical thinking, and ethical habits for responsible use of AI in their local contexts and beyond. Through experiential learning, peer exchange, and hands-on activities, the project develops digital awareness, ethical judgment and informed decision-making, enabling young people to navigate AI-driven environments safely, consciously and responsibly. Our objectives are: 1. to encourage the sharing of experiences, best practices and cultural perspectives on the use of artificial intelligence in everyday life among youth from different countries 2. to develop young people’s ability to spot ethical and responsible AI practices, while enhancing critical thinking to evaluate misleading, manipulative or harmful AI-driven practices online 3. to strengthen youth’s AI and digital literacy by questioning the mechanism and influence of algorithms, social media platforms and automated systems on young people’s attitudes, choices and behaviours 4. to support young people in developing responsible and ethical digital habits related to AI use, online communication and content creation through practical activities and interactive workshops 5. to support participants in creating and leading activities that promote ethical and responsible AI use among peers and local communities through local awareness-raising initiatives 6. to develop the youth-friendly AI ethics Compass and a series of catchy social media content reaching young people and promoting responsible AI practices through a youth-led digital awareness campaign.
