The project was developed in response to the real needs of young people we work with on a daily basis. In our youth work practice, we observe increasing difficulties related to critical use of the Internet, identifying disinformation, and assessing the credibility of media content. Young people function in an environment of information overload, where they are increasingly exposed to fake news, manipulation of messages, and greenwashing, while often lacking the tools needed to navigate this space in a conscious and responsible way. An additional challenge is the limited access of some young people—especially those from smaller towns and rural areas—to modern forms of non-formal education and international experiences. In our daily work, we see a strong need to create safe and supportive spaces where young people can develop social, digital, and civic competences, learn cooperation, and build a sense of agency. The main objective of the project is to support young people in developing critical thinking skills, conscious use of information, and the ability to recognise mechanisms of disinformation and greenwashing. The project also aims to develop social, communication, and language competences through work in an international group and the use of non-formal education methods based on experience, reflection, and active participation. An important objective is also to strengthen civic attitudes, social responsibility, and environmental awareness among young people. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project focuses on actively involving participants at all stages—from planning and implementation to evaluation and dissemination of results. Young people are not only recipients of activities but co-creators of the project, which allows them to develop a sense of responsibility, self-confidence, and teamwork skills. Particular attention is given to supporting young people with fewer opportunities, including participants with special educational needs, by adapting methods, pace of activities, and providing appropriate support. The project combines local youth work practice with an international dimension, enabling participants to explore different perspectives, cultures, and experiences. As a result, young people not only gain new skills and knowledge but also learn openness, dialogue, and cooperation. The project has a practical and long-term character—its results and the experiences of participants will be used in further educational and social activities, contributing to the sustainable development of young people and the communities in which they live.
