Objectives

The overall aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of youth workers from nine European organisations to use empathic communication in order to improve the quality, inclusiveness and impact of their youth work. Objectives: - to increase knowledge of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) among 27 youth workers by the end of the 7-day training, measured through pre- and post-training self-assessment questionnaires (target: at least 90% increase their competence level by at least one point on a 1–5 scale) - to develop practical skills in empathic listening, dialogue facilitation and conflict mediation through daily workshops, roleplays and practice labs, with an indicator that each participant demonstrates these skills in at least two training activities as observed by trainers -to consciously reduce the use of unhelpful communication patterns (e.g. criticism, unsolicited advice, ignoring emotions) by supporting reflection and practice, with the indicator that each participant identifies at least two behaviours to unlearn and two supportive communication strategies to apply in their action plan, and demonstrates use of supportive communication during practical exercises as observed by trainers - to strengthen the ability of youth workers to design and adapt non-formal education activities that build communication and empathy among young people, with the result that at least 80% of participants create a ready-to-use activity plan during the training that can be implemented in their organisations - to increase confidence in working with diverse groups and young people with fewer opportunities by using inclusive methods and intercultural approaches, measured through self-assessment and observation by trainers (at least 85% increase their confidence level by at least one point on a 1-5 scale, supported by trainer observation) - to ensure organisational impact by transferring learning outcomes into partner organisations, through dissemination activities and follow-up workshops, with the indicator that each organisation organises at least one sharing activity in their local organisation for at least 15 youth within two months after the training.
