We want to implement the project “Choice Map: Navigating Life in the Age of Abundance” because an increasing number of young people experience difficulties in making conscious decisions in a world that offers an unlimited number of options while simultaneously generating strong pressure and expectations from their environment. In our daily work with young people, we observe phenomena such as information overload, decision paralysis, and postponing choices, which lead to a sense of chaos, reduced agency, and a lack of confidence in planning the future. Young people often get lost in the excess of options and, instead of developing their potential, experience stress, anxiety, and discouragement. More and more frequently, they also report a lack of clear criteria for choosing educational or career paths, as well as difficulties in coping with expectations from peers, family members, and society. Youth workers emphasize that in their everyday practice there is a lack of attractive and effective tools that would help young people better understand decision-making mechanisms, cope with overstimulation, and learn how to consciously choose their own paths. Existing methods often prove insufficient in the face of the pace of change and the scale of challenges young people face today. For this reason, the project responds to real and practical needs—both of young people and of those who support them. The project includes participant preparation, the implementation of an international mobility in Łomża, followed by local and dissemination activities. A total of 25 youth workers from Poland, Estonia, Turkey, Greece, and Romania will take part in the project, developing their competences, testing new methods, and creating educational tools ready for immediate use in youth work. The key results will include: an outdoor educational exhibition “Choice Map” (5 double-sided boards, i.e. 10 content panels), whose opening will be combined with workshops for at least 60 young people from Łomża and the surrounding area, and the “Choice Map Toolbox”—a set of at least 10 methods, exercises, and workshop scenarios developed and tested in practice, and then made available online as an open educational resource. An important element of the project will also be cultural evenings, allowing participants to learn about the realities of youth work in different countries and broaden their European perspective on decision-making. The main objective of the project is to increase the competences of all 25 participants (youth workers) in supporting young people in conscious decision-making in a world of excessive stimuli and options by at least 70% across the entire project cycle. The specific objectives include: -increasing the knowledge of each participant by at least 70% in the field of psychological mechanisms of decision-making, measured through ex-ante and ex-post surveys, -developing the practical skills of all participants by at least 65% in the use of prioritization methods, coping with overstimulation, and supporting young people in educational and career choices, -creating and opening the “Choice Map” outdoor exhibition as a permanent educational tool used in youth work in Łomża, -developing and publishing a digital version of the exhibition (PDF) downloaded by at least 2,000 users within one year after the end of the project, -preparing and publishing the “Choice Map Toolbox” containing at least 10 methods and scenarios, tested during the mobility and youth workshops, with at least 60% of users confirming its usefulness in practice, -organizing at least 4 pilot workshops with the participation of 60 young people, of whom at least 60% will confirm an increase in knowledge about conscious decision-making, -reaching at least 5,000 recipients in 5 partner countries through promotional and dissemination activities (social media, organizational websites, Erasmus+ Project Results Platform), -increasing the intercultural competences of all participants by at least 70%, based on evaluation tools and self-assessment linked to cultural evenings and work in international teams, -strengthening the capacity of 5 partner organizations, each of which will implement at least 2 new methods developed within the project into their regular educational offer.
