Objectives

Youth work increasingly involves high emotional demands, responsibility for young people’s development, and pressure to achieve predefined project results. Youth workers often operate in environments marked by uncertainty, limited resources, unstable funding, and growing mental health needs among young people. In practice, this leads to emotional overload, frustration, a sense of failure when projects do not meet expectations, and a growing risk of burnout. This project was designed as a response to the real needs of youth workers, who rarely receive structured support in coping with emotions, failure, and stress related to project-based work. From a youth work practice perspective, it is crucial not only to support young people but also to care for the wellbeing of those working with them, as the quality of relationships, learning processes, and local actions depends directly on the emotional and mental condition of youth workers. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the emotional resilience of youth workers and develop their competences in emotional awareness, self-regulation, and constructive coping with failure. The project also aims to equip participants with practical wellbeing tools that can be used in individual work, team settings, and youth activities. In the long term, the project seeks to improve the quality of youth work, reduce burnout risk, and strengthen the sustainability and effectiveness of youth organisations.
