Objectives

The main objective of the project is to enhance the quality of youth work by equipping 30 youth workers and educational leaders from 5 countries (PL, LT, RO, HR, BG) with the innovative SiD (Simulation into Debriefing) methodology as a tool to combat disinformation and manipulation in the digital environment. We aim to shift from "theorizing" about fake news to "experiencing" the mechanisms of manipulation, which is the only effective way to reach Generation Z. 1. Development of methodological competences - We will train participants in designing and conducting immersive simulation games (including the flagship "Sunny Beach" simulation). Youth workers will gain a powerful tool that allows for discussing difficult topics (polarization, propaganda) in an engaging, non-"school-like" manner. Instead of boring lectures, they will create educational experiences. 2. Increasing digital and visual competences - We will equip participants with skills in critical image analysis (through video workshops). Participants will learn to create professional counter-narratives (Reels/TikTok) of cinematic quality, enabling them to effectively compete for youth attention within social media algorithms. 3. Implementation of neuro-inclusion standards - Learning to manage group emotions and inclusive facilitation, with a special focus on neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, autism spectrum). Thanks to the expertise of specialists (TU Berlin), trainers will learn how to transform cognitive differences into assets during games (e.g., "hypersensitivity" as a "radar for details"). This will increase the psychological safety of the activities they conduct. 4. Creation of Open Educational Resources - Developing at least 5 new simulation game scenarios embedded in the local realities of the partners. Participants will cease to be merely "consumers" of content and become "creators." The "SiD Toolkit" will be created as a free resource for the entire European community of youth workers. 5. Professionalization and networking - Consolidating the partnership with the goal of establishing a future international "School of Critical Thinking." The project is not a one-off event, but a step towards building stable structures that will allow organizations to become independent of grants and professionalize the NGO sector. Through these objectives, the project responds to the pressing needs of the sector, such as the lack of attractive, proven media education tools capable of breaking through the information noise of TikTok.
