This training course will help youth workers master outdoor education, as an effective way to help young people become more connected to nature, to themselves, and their communities. The project aims to restore a connection between young people and the natural world by supporting those who guide them. By equipping 25 youth workers with the skills, confidence, and methods to deliver educational sessions in outdoor environments, this initiative will strengthen both youth wellbeing and environmental engagement. We want to reach 3 key objectives over the course of this project (10 months): 1. Youth workers (25) will deepen their understanding of outdoor education as a pedagogical approach and will progressively build the confidence to lead outdoor learning sessions for young people. 2. Through practical activities and experiential learning, participants will develop key facilitation and organizational skills required for leading outdoor education sessions including: planning and designing activities, preparing materials, the physical settings, adapting to changing weather or group dynamics, and ensuring safety and inclusivity in natural environments. 3. Youth workers will actively test and adapt at least 5 non-formal educational methods that work well in nature and that they can immediately apply in their local youth work.
