DisabilitiesInclusion of marginalised young peopleMedia literacy and tackling disinformation

Objectives

The project was created in response to the deepening digital and social exclusion of young people with disabilities, which became apparent during the Foundation's grassroots work, particularly during the implementation of an earlier small-scale partnership project – ‘Break barriers with AI!’. Activities focused on artificial intelligence clearly showed that for some young people, AI represents an opportunity for development, an educational tool and a way to increase independence. At the same time, for young people with fewer opportunities, in particular those with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders, the same technology can become a source of new threats: manipulation, disinformation, thoughtless use of digital content and further marginalisation. In response to this problem, the aim of the project is to provide systemic support to young people with disabilities in developing media and digital literacy, with a particular focus on recognising disinformation.
