Via Musica aims to make European cultural mobility accessible, safe, and learning-rich for young people with fewer opportunities (FO) who are motivated but excluded by low travel confidence, language anxiety, and the feeling that “cultural spaces are not for me.” From a youth work practice perspective, we want to strengthen agency, belonging, and participation through a structured DiscoverEU Inclusion pathway that combines non-formal learning, mentoring, and measurable follow-up in Krakow. In youth work terms, Via Musica is designed as a supported learning journey (not tourism): small groups, predictable routines, clear roles, and reflection tools that help participants build competence step-by-step. We work with 15 FO young people (18–21) from Krakow, all first-time international travellers, and we deliver three identical 12-day rail mobilities to ensure fair access and comparable outcomes. Our objectives are expressed as six SMART learning and participation objectives, linked to youth work practice and daily support methods: SO1 – Travel self-efficacy and independence: by Month 11, at least 12/15 show +25% improvement in travel self-efficacy (navigating transport, daily decisions, asking for help), measured by baseline/post surveys and mentor observation checklists (initiative, problem-solving, reduced avoidance). SO2 – Intercultural confidence and European belonging: by Month 11, at least 12/15 show +20% increase in intercultural confidence and belonging, measured by pre/post scales and reflection evidence (“difference without judgement” learning). SO3 – Cultural participation continuation in Krakow: by Month 12, at least 10/15 complete one new cultural participation action within 8 weeks after return (concert, cultural venue, workshop), verified by follow-up survey and simple proof (GDPR-safe). SO4 – Employability and learning recognition: by Month 12, at least 13/15 finalise an updated Europass CV with min. 6 competences and min. 8 evidence statements, validated with a quality rubric (clarity, realism, relevance). SO5 – Social capital and support networks: by Month 12, at least 12/15 identify two concrete support resources/contacts they can access (mentor, peer, youth worker, opportunity source, cultural contact) and report higher confidence using them. SO6 – Local and European reach: by Month 12, deliver a 30-person follow-up event in Krakow (≥20 feedback forms; ≥70% report increased understanding of inclusive mobility and cultural diversity) and publish a 20-page booklet for EU reuse (Erasmus+ Project Results Platform + SALTO-YOUTH ecosystems). These objectives are implemented through youth work methods: Learning Agreements, Code of Conduct, 1:1 mentoring, FO-friendly daily rhythm (check-in → cultural block → reflection → peer micro-task), OLS language preparation ≥2 months pre-mobility, Padlet learning diary, and structured post-return mentoring to transfer learning into real-life participation. Mobility dates (12 days each): Mobility 1 (Month 4): 17–28 October 2026 Mobility 2 (Month 7): 17–28 January 2027 Mobility 3 (Month 10): 17–28 April 2027
