Civis Lab seeks to strengthen the role of socio-educational animators as facilitators of civic and democratic participation among young people. Through the creation, testing and validation of innovative non-formal education methodologies, the project aims to equip technicians and organisations with skills and tools that make youth participation more inclusive, accessible, meaningful and sustainable. In addition to directly training youth workers, Civis Lab also wants to create a multiplier effect, ensuring that the results are not limited to direct participants, but extend to young people, organisations, communities and European networks. Project objectives from the perspective of youth work practice - To train socio-educational youth workers in innovative participation methodologies – offering training, job shadowing and practical workshops that enable them to apply new techniques to engage groups of young people in community and educational contexts. - Test and validate new approaches to youth engagement – through pilot activities in the different partner countries, where youth workers can apply methodologies, gather feedback from young people and adjust them to their local realities. - Strengthen key skills of youth workers – such as facilitating dialogue, active listening, conflict mediation, managing diverse groups and stimulating critical thinking among young people. - Create concrete tools for daily work with young people – namely a digital methodological toolkit with participatory activities, step-by-step guides and practical examples, which can be used directly by technicians in their regular programmes. - Promote the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities – adapting methodologies to rural, socio-economically disadvantaged or culturally diverse contexts, ensuring that all young people can participate actively and equitably. - Stimulate active and democratic citizenship among young people – encouraging them to take on leadership roles in community projects, participate in decision-making processes and develop social responsibility skills. - Strengthen participating organisations – making them more capable of responding to young people's needs, innovating in their methods of intervention and ensuring a lasting impact in the territories where they operate. - Build a European network of technicians and organisations – promoting the sharing of good practices, the exchange of experiences and the continuous development of youth participation methodologies. - Ensure the sustainability and replicability of methodologies – enabling project results to be applied in the long term, both locally (in organisations and communities) and at European level (through dissemination in youth networks). In summary: Civis Lab aims to achieve more skilled technicians, stronger organisations and young people more involved in democratic life, through practical and innovative methodologies that will have an immediate impact on daily work and a long- term multiplier effect.
