Objectives

As polarisation and disinformation undermine democratic systems across Europe – and in Portugal –, DemocraThink: From Noise to Voice was co-created with local young volunteers to empower young people in Barcelos and the Minho region with critical-thinking, media-literacy and civic-engagement tools to counter radicalisation and populism. The project pursues four specific objectives: #O1 develop a structured, evidence-based programme on media literacy, critical thinking and intercultural dialogue, supported by adaptable methods and resources; #O2 train 5 young facilitators to co-design and co-deliver peer activities that promote tolerance and resilience to polarisation; #O3 provide 25 young participants (≥40% with fewer opportunities) with safe, inclusive spaces for learning and civic action; and #O4 set up at least two youth–policy dialogues and a co-created policy brief translating youth evidence into local measures.
