Through collected data, we realized that it was urgent to adopt a structured approach that promotes the development of social and civic skills among young people in care from the very beginning of their placement, rather than only at a later stage. This early intervention can be crucial in building a more autonomous, responsible, and active transition into society. It is in this context that "(N)o Meu Lugar" was created, with the goal of developing a program that fosters democratic participation as an essential tool for social reintegration. Based on national and European youth participation strategies and the Competence Framework for Democratic Culture, the project focuses on empowerment, leadership, and a sense of belonging as key tools for social reintegration and active citizenship. "(In) My Place" reflects the mission of providing young people with concrete opportunities for engagement, learning, and agency, thereby strengthening their integration.
