Through the implementation of the Volunteering Is Power (VIP) project, we aim to strengthen the role of non-formal education as a key tool for civic engagement and personal development of young people, addressing the real need to counteract passivity, lack of initiative and social indifference. From a youth work practice perspective, the project creates a safe, intercultural and participatory learning environment where young people can develop civic, social and personal competences through experiential learning, international cooperation and direct involvement in volunteering activities. VIP focuses on youth empowerment, learning by doing and structured reflection on the role of young people within their communities. The main objectives of the project are to increase awareness of the importance of volunteering and active citizenship, to develop communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills, to foster proactive attitudes and a sense of European citizenship, and to support the active inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. Through non-formal learning methods, mentoring and structured follow-up, the project contributes to the development of confident, engaged young people who are able to act as multipliers and role models in their local communities.
