Objectives

The Unspoken Art of Again aims to institutionalize a new approach in European youth work: the eco-emotional intersection. From a youth work point of view, we have recognized that the classical approach to ecological education is inefficient because it neglects the psychological freeze response called eco-anxiety, which is further intertwined with Alexithymia (the inability to identify and describe emotions). Our main accomplishment will be the transformation of 42 participants from the status of learned helplessness to creative agency. The first goal is to improve the environmental literacy of 42 participants from 7 different countries. environmental literacy is understood not as knowledge, but as the capability to master 5 different upcycling skills (structural, aesthetic, organic, narrative, and functional). Success will be measured by the 30% increase of the pre-mobility baseline test scores and the post-mobility technical skills evaluation. We want to demonstrate that when youth work offers hands-on solutions, the cognitive retention of sustainability principles is greatly increased. The second goal is to improve creative and digital competence. We will create at least 3 large-scale collective artistic installations that will recycle 100% of the non-organic waste produced during the mobility. This goal introduces a zero-waste lab context in which youth workers will enable the conversion of revolt into art. This will be recorded in a digital eco-emotional portfolio, ensuring that participants will leave the project with concrete evidence of their soft and hard skills, ready to be integrated into the Europass system. Our third aim is the most specialized one: emotional self-regulation. Through the execution of daily NLP-based (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) anchoring workshops and non-verbal art classes, we hope to achieve a 20% expansion of emotional vocabulary. By using the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) as a self-evaluation method, we will follow the development of the participants in their capacity to name and tame the stress caused by environmental collapse. From a youth work perspective, this confirms the importance of the youth worker as an emotional scaffold during times of global crisis. Our final aim is scalable empowerment. We are not only training participants, but also building eco-emotional ambassadors. Each of the 7 national groups will develop a compulsory follow-up action plan. The aim is to achieve a minimum of 140 indirect beneficiaries (20 per country) within 60 days after the end of the mobility. This will ensure that the project becomes a multiplier engine, where the developed methodology in Sighișoara is piloted and adjusted in 7 different European socio-economic contexts.
