Planned Activities The project consists of a sequence of non-formal learning activities designed to strengthen young people’s environmental awareness, practical sustainability skills, emotional resilience, and active participation in their communities. Activities integrate experiential learning, cooperation, creative expression, and reflection, in line with the Erasmus+ Youth Quality Standards. 1. Experiential Environmental Workshops Youth will participate in hands-on sustainability sessions at AMURTEL’s Zoriza Garden, including: - planting, mulching and maintaining regenerative garden beds, - composting and soil-health demonstrations, - zero-waste and upcycling workshops, - plant-based cooking using seasonal produce grown on-site. These sessions promote learning-by-doing, enabling participants to understand ecological cycles and adopt practical behaviours they can replicate at home or in their organisations. 2. Team-Building and Cooperative Tasks Group tasks will reinforce communication, cooperation, and leadership skills through activities such as: - building raised beds or simple eco-structures (e.g., dry toilets, compost bins), - preparing shared meals, - collaborative problem-solving challenges. These activities foster a sense of belonging and inclusion, which is especially important for youth with fewer opportunities. 3. Reflection Circles and Guided Discussions Youth workers will facilitate daily reflection moments to support the development of: - self-awareness, - emotional well-being, - critical thinking about sustainability, - understanding of personal and collective responsibility. Reflection methods will include journaling, pair-sharing, small-group circles, and guided mindfulness in nature. 4. Creative and Media Activities To encourage expression, creativity, and digital competences, participants will produce: - short videos and photo stories documenting the exchange, - posters and infographics on zero-waste living or soil regeneration, - small exhibitions to present to local community members or peers. These outputs will also support the project’s dissemination activities. 5. Outdoor Learning and Nature-Connection Activities Nature walks, sensory awareness exercises, observation games, and simple meditation practices will reconnect participants with the environment and support mental well-being. These practices are grounded in deep ecology and holistic youth-work approaches. 6. Community Engagement Activities To strengthen confidence and civic engagement, participants will help organise: - an open community moment where they share what they learned, - simple demonstrations of composting or soil-health practices, - intercultural activities with local families or youth groups. This reinforces active participation and contributes to the local community around the AMURTEL farm. Number and Profile of Participants Participants The project will bring together 20 young people aged 18–30, selected by the partner organisations (Romania, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, Denmark, Bulgaria). Participants will include: - youth interested in environmental issues and sustainable living, - youth with fewer opportunities, including: - economic or socio-economic barriers (RO, BG), - youth from rural or remote areas (RO, ES—Mallorca, PT), - internally displaced youth or those affected by conflict (UA), - volunteers engaged in community or ecological initiatives, - young people new to Erasmus+ who may need additional support or encouragement. This mix ensures diversity, inclusion, and intercultural learning—key priorities of Erasmus+. Youth Worker and Facilitator Team AMURTEL Romania: 3–4 trained youth workers from the Zoriza Garden team, experienced in outdoor education, group facilitation, and regenerative agriculture. EcoAtivo Portugal: 1 facilitator with experience in youth work, permaculture education, and Erasmus+ non-formal learning methods. Additional support will be provided through volunteers, guest speakers, and local community partners. Youth workers will ensure psychological and physical safety, inclusivity, and adaptation to different learning styles. Inclusion Approach The project actively integrates the Inclusion and Diversity Strategy by ensuring: - gender balance, - mixed-ability participation, - targeted outreach to youth with fewer opportunities, - continuous individual support (linguistic, emotional, practical), - accessible activity formats and differentiated learning approaches, - safe environments for expression and participation. Youth workers will ensure that all young people, especially those with fewer opportunities or limited prior experience, feel welcome, supported, and able to fully participate.
