Objectives

“Bet on wellbeing: Youth work against gambling risks” is an European training course designed to equip youth workers with the practical skills and know-how needed in order to support young people who are struggling with online gambling addictions. This is a challenge that has become increasingly visible in Romania and across Europe. With the rise of quick-access betting apps, flashy online casinos and aggressive advertising targeted at youth, many young people find themselves caught in harmful patterns that are difficult to break without support. Therefore, the main aim of our project is to equip youth workers with practical skills and tools to create open dialogue and effectively support young people affected by, or at risk of, gambling and online gambling addiction. That being said, our project objectives are: 1. Through this project, all 30 participants will gain essential knowledge regarding the main reasons behind gambling addictions and at least 3 effective tools to address this topic among young people who are exposed to gambling addictions. 2. By the end of the training course, all 30 participating youth workers will demonstrate a more proactive and empathetic attitude toward supporting young people at risk of online gambling addiction. 3. By the end of the follow-up period, the 30 participants will have learned about and implemented at least 5 of the non-formal methods learnt throughout implementation, for at least 20 young people/participant organisation, revolving around gambling prevention and media responsability.
