Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to offer young people with fewer opportunities from Agnita the chance to discover Europe, grow personally, and broaden their horizons through a non-formal learning experience. The participating youth come from rural and semi-urban communities where access to educational and cultural opportunities is limited. Through this initiative, we want to give them the chance to step out of their comfort zones, experience European diversity firsthand, and acquire essential skills for independent living. The project addresses a real need identified among the youth in our communities: the lack of mobility opportunities, personal autonomy development, and intercultural interaction. Most participants come from backgrounds where support for personal growth is minimal, and the family or community context is often conservative, limiting access to experiences that could help them become more independent and better prepared for adult life. Furthermore, geographic isolation and limited financial resources make participation in international programs difficult or even impossible. Main Objectives Through this project, we aim to achieve the following: Enhancing self-confidence and personal autonomy for 5 young people (aged 18-20) from Agnita, by participating in a travel experience across 8 European cities and through active involvement in managing their own logistics over a 21-day period. Developing knowledge regarding cultural diversity and European heritage by visiting historical and cultural monuments in the selected countries and participating in intercultural activities. Building intercultural connections and expanding social networks at a European level through meetings and exchanges of ideas with youth from other European countries, promoting an understanding of cultural diversity and European values. Impact on Youth Work From a youth work perspective, this project is of particular importance as it offers participants the opportunity to develop essential competencies such as organization and planning, budget management, adaptability, and intercultural communication. By participating, young people will learn to be more autonomous, take on responsibilities, and navigate challenges in new and unfamiliar environments. An essential aspect of the project is that its impact will not end with the journey. Participants will become ambassadors for European opportunities in their communities, sharing their experiences and encouraging other young people to engage in similar initiatives. Thus, the project will have a multiplier effect, inspiring other youth with fewer opportunities to overcome their barriers and explore new possibilities for personal development. Conclusion Furthermore, through this project, AgniConnect continues its mission to support young people in becoming active and informed citizens, facilitating their access to European programs and developing autonomy and leadership skills. The experience gained will contribute to launching new projects dedicated to disadvantaged youth and strengthening the network of organizations promoting inclusion through international mobility. This project is more than just a trip. It is a genuine opportunity for these young people to discover their potential, build self-confidence, and understand that they can be part of a Europe of opportunities, regardless of their background.
