The project aims to strengthen young people’s democratic participation and influence, focusing on those underrepresented in decision-making processes. In 2027, the project is further developed with an emphasis on advocacy and public engagement. As 2027 is a mid-term year between elections, the need for follow-up, accountability, and sustained engagement is high. The project helps keep democratic issues and youth influence alive between elections. It targets young people in rural areas, socio-economically disadvantaged areas, and those without voting rights. The goal is to create dialogue platforms between young people and decision-makers, develop policy proposals, and equip young people with tools and knowledge to influence society. The project is carried out through a youth-led steering group meeting at a democracy and advocacy weekend, participation in Almedalen Week, and a national summit where young people set the agenda in dialogue with decision-makers.
