The Symphony of precarious work and ellbeing project was created based on the good response of young participants in the project "With Youth Work Against Youth Precarity", which we have been implementing at MKC Maribor since 2024. We wanted to transfer the main topic from mentioned project to the youth exchange, so that not only young people from Slovenia, but also young people across Europe could become familiar with it. By implementing the project, we want to familiarize young people from different European countries with the issue of precariousness and, above all, with its negative effects on our health, self-confidence, wellbeing, sense of responsibility, future. We notice that a lot of young people have experience with precarious work from the very beginning while not being aware of it, because they are unfamiliar with the concept. Young people need to be empowered with the awareness that precarious work can have a very negative impact on our health and well-being, which we will raise awareness of during this exchange. An important emphasis will be placed on activities through which young people will relax and learn about the power of art and culture on our good mental health. We note that the topic of precariousness and self care through culture and art is a rare topic of youth exchanges, and from this perspective, this exchange is very important for young people. With the project, we want to respond to the following problems and needs: -the problem of precariousness among young people -strengthening quality leisure time -encouraging relaxation, socializing, taking care of our health -encouraging artistic and creative expression as taking care of our health -encouraging participation in cultural events as taking care of our health -improving communication and social skills -creating a safe space for discussing negative experiences at work, their impact on our health, and how to take care of our wellbeing. The main goals of the project are: -learning about and recognizing precariousness, learning about the negative impact of precariousness on our health, and, above all, learning about ways to take care of ourselves and our well-being through art and culture. -get to know precarious workers from Slovenia and learn about their way of dealing with the challenges of precariousness -find out how precariousness, stress and uncertainty affect our health -find out about ways of relaxing and dealing with negative impacts on our health and well-being -find out how culture can help us take care of our well-being and mental health -create open communication, sharing experiences and creating support for all participants -strengthen critical thinking, cultural dialogue and communication skills -encourage active participation in organizing activities -involve young people with fewer opportunities -integrate learned knowledge, experiences and ways of taking care of themselves into the everyday lives of young participants and among their peers and friends -integrate working methods into organizations in partner countries and share experiences with young people who were not participants in a youth exchange The project will be based on the Erasmus Quality Standards in the field of youth: Connecting the EU with young people: The project will connect young people from different European countries, to learn about the state of precariousness in partner countries and exchange experiences, opinions and solutions in a safe space. Gender equality: We will ensure gender equality, as both genders will be represented equally, we will also encourage the participation of young people with fewer opportunities and young people from the LGBTQ+ community. Inclusive societies: The project will build an environment without discrimination, all participants will have equal rights and opportunities to participate, regardless of their abilities and background. The exchange will have zero tolerance for discrimination, non-acceptance and disrespect. Information and constructive dialogue: Young people will be encouraged to seek credible information on the topic of the project, through activities they will strengthen communication skills and constructive dialogue, which will be the dominant method of work throughout the exchange. Mental health and well-being: We will ensure the wellbeing of all participants through ways of relaxation. The emphasis will be on ways of relaxation through art and cultural activities. Quality employability for all: Familiarity with precarious work will increase the chances of decent and secure employment. Quality learning: Through non-formal education, young people will strengthen various competences, especially communication and teamwork. Space and participation for all: All participants will be actively involved in the exchange process, they will be encouraged to express their opinions, impressions, experiences and wishes.
