Objectives

The project FROM WASTE TO CHANGE is rooted in youth work as a space where young people, through non-formal learning, experiential activities and international cooperation, develop competences, critical thinking and an active role in society. The project provides young people with a safe and supportive environment in which they can explore environmental challenges, co-create solutions and take responsibility for change in their communities. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to empower young people to recognise their impact on the environment and society and to develop the confidence to act. A strong emphasis is placed on learning through experience, where young people are not passive recipients of knowledge but active participants, co-creators of content and leaders of activities. The objectives of the project from a youth work perspective are to: - empower young people to develop self-confidence, critical thinking and a sense of personal effectiveness in addressing environmental challenges, - develop sustainable and life skills that young people can apply in their everyday lives (responsible consumption, cooperation, problem-solving), - increase environmental awareness and understanding of the connection between everyday habits, consumerism and environmental impact, - encourage participation and active citizenship, enabling young people to take part in decision-making, implementation of activities and dissemination of results in their local communities, - include young people with fewer opportunities and provide them with equal access to participation, learning and international experience. The project thus contributes to the development of youth work that is not focused solely on short-term activities, but on the long-term personal development of young people, their increased social inclusion and sustainable engagement at local and European levels.
