Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to improve the quality and efficiency of youth work in digital environments and strengthen the professional resilience of youth workers and organisations. In practice, we observe that youth work is rapidly shifting to online, hybrid, and blended formats, while organisations often lack sufficient time, staff capacity, and clear criteria for the meaningful use of digital tools. The consequences include duplicated work, lower quality delivery, weaker support for young people in digital environments, and a higher risk of staff burnout. The project views digitalisation as support for quality youth work, not merely as a technical objective. It focuses on strengthening youth workers’ competences for the meaningful, safe, and inclusive use of digital tools that support young people’s wellbeing, active participation, equal opportunities, and the responsible, ethical use of technology. Overall project objective To strengthen high-quality, safe, participatory, and sustainable digital youth work in partner organisations. Specific project objectives 1.To strengthen youth workers’ digital, pedagogical, and facilitation competences for online/hybrid/blended youth work. 2.To improve daily youth work practice through more efficient process organisation, less duplication of work, and better use of time. 3.To develop shared criteria for selecting and using digital tools based on the purpose of activities, the profile of youth workers and young people, safety in the use of these tools, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness. 4.To strengthen the quality of online youth connection and the participation of youth workers and young people in co-creating content and activities in digital environments. 5.To develop transferable results for organisations and the wider sector: a digital tools handbook and action plans of participating organisations, with potential for wider uptake at national and international level. From a youth work practice perspective, this means concrete change: after the project, youth workers will facilitate digital activities with greater confidence, better identify risks such as privacy protection in digital environments, safety concerns, detection and critical assessment of disinformation, and digital exclusion, and select tools that genuinely support the learning and participation goals of each organisation. Organisations will have clearer internal procedures, stronger potential for faster decision-making, and more sustainable workflows, contributing to more stable and higher-quality work with young people. At the same time, the acquired tools will enable organisations to engage more effectively in the digital environments where young people are present. Key performance indicators (KPIs) 18/18 participants complete the training, document learning outcomes, and receive a Youthpass certificate. 6/6 organisations prepare an action plan for transfer into practice. 6/6 organisations deliver at least one internal multiplier training session. A digital tools handbook for effective digital youth work and organisational digitalisation is developed and publicly shared. Average improvement of self-assessed competences of at least 25%, measured through baseline and final surveys. In this way, the project connects the development of youth workers (and indirectly young people), the development of organisations working with young people—by extending youth work into the environments where young people are active and reaching those who otherwise do not come into contact with youth centres, projects, and programmes - and, consequently, contributes to the broader development of high-quality digital youth work in Europe.
