The project “A Little Around Europe, A Lot for Žalec” aims to provide five young people with fewer opportunities from Žalec with a high-quality learning experience within the DiscoverEU initiative and to encourage their more active involvement in the local community and youth centre. The target group consists of young people in a transitional period after completing or interrupting secondary education, who, due to geographical, social, economic and learning barriers, are less likely to engage in youth centre activities and youth work and have limited access to international mobility opportunities. From a youth work perspective, the main objective of the project is to strengthen young people’s self-confidence, independence, cooperation skills and intercultural understanding through non-formal and experiential learning. Young people will be actively involved in the planning, implementation and reflection of a group travel experience in Italy, becoming co-creators of their own learning process. At the same time, the project addresses the need to support young people after secondary education and to create a pathway from participation to active involvement and volunteering in the youth centre.
