Objectives

The aim of the project is to create and pilot a sustainable model for involving young people with lived experience of mental health crisis, mental illness or addiction in supporting the mental health of other young people. The project is based on the belief that peer recovery experience can serve as an accessible first point of support for young people facing mental health difficulties. The main objective is to strengthen youth participation in mental health through the training of youth peers, their involvement in youth work practice, and the development of a digital platform for peer consultations. The project focuses on the safe and responsible use of lived experience, cooperation between peers and professionals, and the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. At a systemic level, the project aims to test a youth peer participation model in youth work, reduce mental health stigma, and improve access to support for young people in difficult life situations.
