Objectives

The project “Youth Shapes the Region: Strategic Partnership for the Future” aims to strengthen meaningful participation of young people aged 15-25 in seven towns of the Košice Region, Slovakia (Spišská Nová Ves, Michalovce, Gelnica, Sobrance, Trebišov, Moldava nad Bodvou, Rožňava). The main objective is to create a functional model of cooperation between young people and local authorities through education, simulation of decision-making processes and the implementation of concrete measures proposed by young participants. The project responds to the need for more systematic youth participation in public life and to the lack of structured dialogue between young people and decision-makers. Through youth model city councils, strategic meetings, a residential training course and a regional conference, young participants will develop civic, communication and argumentation competences while engaging directly with representatives of local governments.
