Project summary

FEMALE YOUTH'S FULL ENGAGEMENT IN THE DIGITAL WORLD IS A MUST. They must not only benefit from ICTs but also be equal players in directing the evolution of our digital world – to realise gains and mitigate risks. Promoting the advantages of working in the ICT sector - flexibility, higher salaries, good employment prospects – and raising awareness of the many opportunities of working in the ICT sector, needs to start early in life. The Council of the EU recognizes education, employment and entrepreneurship of young women and men as core measurements for creating greater opportunities by EU Strategy, and especially these three pillars are significantly underdeveloped in BIH and ME. Moreover, World Bank study (2013) reported that ‘ICTs are transforming the world of work, creating new job opportunities and making labour markets more innovative, inclusive, and global’ and “The emerging ICT-enabled employment opportunities matter because countries around the world are looking to create more good jobs, which have positive economic and social implications for workers and for society.” The projected growth rates for employment in the ICT sector trends favorably for the ten-year forecast period at global level, also gives optimistic projections for Western Balkans (WB) Region, which is also proven by recent analyses of the Employment Office and Annual Study of the BIH and ME Labour market, suggesting that particularly IT ENGINEERS ARE ONE OF THE MOST REQUIRED.The FY4ICT 's OVERALL GOAL OF ENHANCING ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAPACITIES AND ICT SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OF FEMALE YOUTH IN BIH AND ME IS EXPECTED TO BE ACHIEVED THROUGH YOUTH EXCHANGE ACTIVITIES with experienced partners from Slovenia and Bulgaria, NEW TRAINING SCHEMES, ENHANCED ICT LEARNING APPROACH, BY STRENGTHENING ENTREPRENEURSHIP, EMPLOYMENT AND LEADERSHIP IN ICT AMONG FEMALE YOUTH POPULATION IN BIH AND ME AND THEIR PEERS IN THE EU.Having in mind that significant impact in education, training and enhanced youth work practices, can be achieved only by sustainable actions jointly implemented at WB Regional level, FY4ICT project is focused on strengthening connections and links between BIH and ME female youth organizations through newly established WB Regional Entrepreneurship Hub of Women in ICT which will be responsible for developing of entrepreneurial environment at regional level, capable to respond to all challenges and perspectives, and thus spreading visibility and connections at local, regional and international level, all enhanced by innovative web/mobile platform for networking, social/professional promotion and learning.
