Project summary

EuroAsia Volunteering Assistance Program want to empower young EVS volunteers from Europe to embrace the opportunities of volunteering in developing countries and to strength their capacities to contribute to the EU Solidarity Corps and EU AID Volunteers programs. Even the EVS celebrated 20 years of existence and more than 100 000 youth took part in it the statistic said only 6% of young people say that they have stayed abroad for the purpose of volunteering and of those who say that they have not done so, 88% say that they did not have the opportunity. In general, more than four in ten young Europeans say that they would like to work, study or train abroad. In order to make new approach for creating young generation that respect human dignity and human rights, believe in promotion of a fair and equal society and is willing to make meaningful contributions to society and respect the rules and practices that govern the society we believe that the innovative actions foreseen in the project will provide an opportunities for all young people to participate in the voluntary programs irrespective of their background, education, level of skills, or disability. The EuroAsia Volunteering Assistance Program want to create a picture of unmet demand among young people not only for solidarity activities, but also for taking on voluntary positions at home or abroad. The common thread is voluntary and humanitarian oriented actions. More and innovative opportunities should be provided, covering a broad range of activities, offering the right trainings and giving formal recognition to the skills and experiences gained. Thus, Mladiinfo Slovakia, together with its partners from France, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, decided to launch a project that will make a connection between the existing EU programs for volunteering and build an online platform with all necessary information regarding the volunteering in developing countries, including the non-formal education trainings for capacity building of the youth organizations staff with necessary skills and capacities, as well as containing a list of crucial requirements that need to be met for hosting and sending volunteers in Asia. The implementation of this project that involves 6 diverse partners from 2 continents that would initiate a program for connecting the European Voluntary Service with EU Solidarity Corps and EU AID Volunteering programs will bring additional value to the European society that is built on solidarity as a shared value which is strongly felt throughout European continent.
