Project summary

“No one will be left behind” ; a commitment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In every country, people and social groups still face obstacles stopping them from completely contributing in social, economic and political life. It reports that social exclusion continues to exist as individuals are denied “access to resources, of voice and of the respect for rights, based on a person’s age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, origin or economic or other status.” Our project will promote social inclusion "Leaving No One behind" and highlight universal methods should be created together with social services/organisations, to break the cycle of poverty. We have a unique combination of organisation within this project; each partner has a specific non-formal method, target group and project delivery area. This combination can introduce new ideas and true social inclusion within each organisation which is an innovative approach that considers all talents and skills of young people that formal education excludes. This combination will provide opportunities to expand each other capacity through the exchange of new approaches and professionals. Final report summary

The "Leave no one behind" (LENO) project was designed in par with the UN sustainable development goals 2030, committed for an inclusive society. Throughout the world, there are marginal community and social groups who are denied from achieving their potentials due to limited access to resources and restricted human rights. Many restrictions fall on them determined by, their age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or their socio-economic factors etc. These groups often do not have a voice for themselves. In this context, this project appeals for methods to promote social inclusion, leaving no one behind. The project highlights universal methods to be created together with social services/organisations, to break the cycle of poverty and promote social inclusion. Thinking along Howard Gardner's multi-intelligences theory; "Leave no one behind", it is believed that any individual has his or her unique strength in at least one of the areas consisting of; visual, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, linguistic, and mathematical skills etc. This project involved several partners to a platform with a variety of non-formal education methods such as: Performing Arts, Sports/circus, film making, E-sports and Games. The main motivation for initiating this project was to promote social inclusion and sustain it. Social inclusion is defined as the process of improving participation in society, particularly those with disadvantages, through enhancing opportunities, access to resources, voice and respect for their rights in the society. There currently isn’t complete social inclusion in any country as not all people feel included, valued and welcomed. Therefore, we recognise that there is a need for methods to promote social inclusion to spread it worldwide. Further, we particularly decided to involve partners who work with people who are at risk of exclusion. However, they are working in one-dimensional ways, separated and segregated. Therefore, we wanted to eradicate different misunderstood concepts of social inclusion among all partners, by working with stakeholders and local networks. The aims of this project were to:a.Increase the capacity of all organisations so it enables them to have a variety of non-formal activities. b.Sustain social inclusion within each partner organisation by increasing employees’ knowledge, skills and awareness through building a local network. c.Inspire local partners to construct new non-formal activities for young people who don’t necessarily suit formal education. d.Increase the knowledge of employees in the partnership of Erasmus+. e.Build a network and cooperation between youth organisations in 4 continents. Europe, Australia, Africa, Asia. f.Provide European Volunteer Service/Solidarity Corps/Long Term Volunteers (EVS) opportunities within non-formal education providers. Our expectation under this project was to bring diverse organisations together; experts in different non-formal education methods to promote social inclusion, involving all social groups and all talents and abilities. The methods selected were at local and international level, creating multi-dimensional organisations. This partnership was formed to increase the capacity of individuals and groups, through non-formal education methods. It was planned in such a way that each member of the partnership will exchange their knowledge, skills and awareness through youth exchanges, EVS, job shadowing and trainings. The LENO project isn’t just a 2-year project but an ideology the partnership recognises to impact on people, places and communities. It is expected that this partnership will contribute to enabling sustainable social inclusion.
