Climate change, caused by the current development model based on the overexploitation of resources, consumption and accumulation, has spread its negative effects on all ecosystems, as well as on human societies and economies. In this framework the green economy model emerges as an alternative that seeks to improve human well-being through the redistribution of natural, social and financial capital in order to generate benefits for economic development, social equity and environmental protection.
